In 2024 and 2025 I have been working with Sunflower Seeds Ukraine, a nonprofit that provides medical and protective gear to the civilian defenders in Ukraine. To connect my pottery practice to that effort, I have developed a style of wares that take inspiration from the folk pottery in the region of Eastern Ukraine, currently a conflict zone. This work is meant to bring attention to the war and its impacts on normal people, potters among them.
